Stevie D released his new single, “Ahora Sigo Yo,” on Friday, his first single with new record label VMB Music Group.

The song was written by award-winning songwriter Beto Ramon and Stevie D gave details on the making of the song during an interview with Tejano Nation radio affiliate KXTN on Thursday.

Stevie D mentioned the initial phone conversation with Ramon about the song, telling the songwriter, “I need some help, I’ve got this title of a song in my head and I think you’re the guy for it.”

The title was “Ahora Sigo Yo.” Ramon asked for the storyline for the song, which Stevie D gave to him and Ramon said he’d call him back soon.

“Forty-five minutes (later) he sends me a video of him playing it on guitar,” said Stevie D. “When I heard the recording it was exactly as I envisioned…It was like two worlds just met like that, it was perfect.”

Stevie D, who was a former backup vocalist for Joe Lopez Y La Nueva Imagen, has had much success over the past year after his return to music. His debut solo album De Repente, released in October 2017, was a critical success and garnered him a win as Best New Male Artist at the 2018 Tejano Music Awards.

“Ahora Sigo Yo” is available now at all digital music platforms.

Elida Y Avante released the official music video for their latest single, “Inquebrantable,” on Friday.

The track is the second single released from EYA’s latest album Colores and was co-written by Juan Trevino and Lalo Reyna III.

“This is my favorite song on the album,” Elida Reyna told Tejano Nation radio affiliate KSAB-FM in a recent interview. “The lyrics, la letras es muy bonita. Basically, the girl, obviously their love is unbreakable, but, she dreamed him into life. What a beautiful story. It’s a fun, peppy kind of song  and it’s a love story.”

The visual for “Inquebrantable” features young actors portraying a young band called “Amante” performing the song on stage, while EYA do the same in the dressing room.

The video includes an appearance by Layla Reyna, the young daughter of Elida and Lalo Reyna, portraying her father on the drums, according to Elida.

“We all used (a) mini-me,” she said. “There’s a little girl interpreting my part and Layla’s on this video because she’s the spitting the image of Lalo, in case you haven’t seen. She’s a little star, she has her own little fanbase believe it or not. People are always requesting her and asking when she’s going to make her own YouTube channel, which she just started…we have all these little actors and they did an amazing job.”

In recent days, rumors have been spinning about a possible collaboration between Tejano music legend Johnny Hernandez and Chente Barrera.

The rumors are true, it’s definitely happening, and it’s coming very soon.

RELATED: Johnny Hernandez talks about his book, upcoming projects and more [AUDIO]

Executive producer Xavier A. Chavarrilla spoke exclusively with Tejano Nation to share details of the upcoming track. He says the idea to recreate a classic song from Hernandez started to come together about six months ago after speaking with the Tejano music legend.

“Johnny wanted to do it with Chente,” Chavarilla said. “We want to do it very different. We want to take away the ‘Familia’ sound, and let Chente put his own flavor into this classic.”

Barrera spoke to Tejano Nation sharing his initial hesitation to recreating a classic song, “I mean, you wouldn’t wanna re-do ‘Thriller’ right?”

“Once me and Johnny got to talking and he told me he wanted me to make it my own, then we really got the wheels turning,” added Barerra.

Chavarilla urged Tejano Nation that this track was going to be taken to another level.

In addition to the new collaboration, Chavarrilla has acquired the services of award-winning director, Efrain Gutierrez Jr., known for his work Trap Plane, to direct the music video alongside him.

While we can not release the name of the record at this time, Tejano Nation can assure that it is a very recognizable track from Johnny y La Familia.

Hernandez was part of the Chicano music movement with the Latinaires and Little Joe Y La Familia and author of The Cotton Picker – An Odyssey, a book that chronicles his life from the fields of Texas to performing at major venues across the country.

Barrera is a Grammy-winning singer and musician, who has spent over two decades in Tejano music and just released a live concert album 20 Años En Vivo.

The collaboration from Hernandez and Barrera is set to be complete within the coming weeks and will be released exclusively with Tejano Nation.
