Montiel, along with her husband and producer Gabriel Zavala, have been putting the finishing touches on the new album over the past few weeks and the singer talked about working on this project, “We don’t release an album every single year, there are some artists that are able to do that, but Gabriel and I get really, really into what we do, lyrically, emotionally, we get very attached. It’s like one of our kids, each our album is kind of like a new kid for us and we really try to nurture it and make sure it’s really the best it possibly can be for all our fans out there. We don’t just want to just put, you know, cookie cutter music for you guys, so we just want to give you something special every single time.”

Stephanie Lynn drug charges dismissed by judge

Drug charges against Stephanie Lynn have been dismissed by a judge, according to a video shared by the singer via Facebook on Tuesday afternoon from a Kerr County, Texas courtroom.

“Of course everybody knows what happened and it was very hard to deal with, because there’s other people involved and there’s families involved, and there’s a whole community involved,” Stephanie Lynn said in the video. “I didn’t have any intention of getting myself in trouble, especially when a lot of people look up to me and I’m not saying I’m a perfect person…I just want to say that my charges are dismissed. I’m free!”

Stephanie Lynn, whose legal name is Stephanie Lynn Garcia, was arrested in April after drugs were found during a traffic stop in Kerrville, Texas.  Jail records state she was booked on two counts of dangerous drugs possession and one count of a controlled substance under one gram.

The charges were dismissed do to lack of evidence, according to her attorney David Parent.

“Both of her cases were dismissed today,” he said. “She’s walking out of the courthouse, she doesn’t have anything following her….I want to give props to the prosecutor, they looked at the case and realized that there was not enough evidence to support any one of those charges.”

The Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame singer added she can now focus on creating new music, “Now that I have no charges,  I am kaput, zero, I am free, I am dismissed. Now, we’re going to go ahead and kick some ass and we’re going to make some (expletive) Tejano music!”

She plans on working with producer Mario Vigil, Jorge Alejandro and her brother Rick for a new album.

Stephanie Lynn began her career as a teenager with her brothers as Stephanie Lynn and High Energy.  In 1993, she was signed to the EMI Latin record label and released her debut album, Solo Ojos Para Ti, with the title track reaching No. 32 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks in late 1994.

Juan Treviño premieres the official music video for his hit single, “Quiero Que Seas Mía,” exclusively with Tejano Nation!

The visual, produced by Jc Siller, features the crooner belting out the slow, romantic cumbia and lead single from his upcoming sophomore album.

“It took me a while to make the video, I was looking for something a little different,” Treviño told Tejano Nation. “I think that the way Jc uses the camera and lighting are what makes this video more unique. It only took a minute to figure out we both had the same vision. I am really happy with the end result.”

After his debut single, “Siempre Es Asi” featuring AJ Castillo, garnered him a Latin Grammy for Best Regional Mexican Song in 2017, the talented singer and songwriter followed it up with “Quiero Que Seas Mía.”

“The song talks about a couple that is in love,” Treviño said about his latest release. “It’s a seductive song. It’s a little different from what I normally sing, but I’ve written songs like this for other artists.”

Treviño has composed some of the biggest hits in Tejano music for over 10 years. He has written hit songs for Los Palominos (Me Enamore De Un Angel), La Mafia (Amor Y Sexo), Vizzio (Para Demostrarte), Siggno (Te Acostumbraste A Estar Sin Mi), Grupo Solido (Soy Libre), David Lee Garza y Los Musicales (El Privilegio) Jay Perez (Un Amigo Tendras), Elida Reyna Y Avante and Solido (Atrevete Amarme), to name just a few.

Los B-OK (Boyz of Kumbia) released the official music video for “Una Vez Mas,” a collaboration featuring Chon Arauza.

The romantic cumbia is a cover of the song originally released by Chon Arauza in 2007 featuring vocalist Chuy Vasquez and written by Ramon Gonzalez Mora. Los B-OK’s version still offers the smooth vocals of Vasquez and accordion skills of Arauza, but incorporates a Los B-OK sound with lead vocalist Hector Gracia, recorded at the group’s ProMusic Studios in Fort Worth, Texas.

“To put all the project together was an experience,” Gracia told Tejano Nation. “Getting the original singer, which was Chuy Vasquez…this is a song that I like and I think that it will fit my vocals and if I could get the original singer to actually collab on this song would be amazing.”

It was all  able to come together and even featured a beautiful visual for the collaboration that was filmed on location in Mexico.

“We took the band out there to go film and it was an amazing experience,” Gracia said. “We filmed in Cuatro Cienegas, Coahuila, in Las Dunas (de Yeso), which is like the desert part…an amazing experience. It’s an amazing video.”

“Una Vez Mas” from Los B-OK featuring Chon Arauza is available at all digital music platforms.
