Tejano music legend Ram Herrera returned to the stage on Friday night, just six weeks after being hospitalized.
The 57-year-old singer performed at Hi-Ho Ballroom in Grand Prairie, Texas, belting out his classic and latest hits for the enjoyment of all in attendance.
The crooner was excited about getting back on stage, as he told Tejano Nation Radio affiliate Fierro 107.5 HD2 on Thursday,.
“My first time back and I’m excited about it.” Herrera told Fierro morning host J.D. “Bo Leo” Gonzalez. “I’m not nervous like I normally would be, I’ll probably get nervous the day I get there.”
“My biggest issue is remembering the words to some of the songs, because it’s been so long since I’ve been on stage,” Herrera said jokingly. “But, usually they come back to me after awhile.”
The singer did not disappoint his fans as seen in the video posted of his performance.
Herrera was admitted to the hospital on July 7 for pneumonia, a collapsed lung and infection. He received surgery on July 8 for the infection and to repair damage to his heart.
