digiTech Entertainment announced the inaugural Puro Internet Music Awards (PIMA) during a press conference at the media company’s offices in Arlington on Thursday (Aug. 10).

The first annual PIMA awards, presented by digiTech and RG Productions, will recognize the Tejano online industry’s best from artists, DJ’s, Program Directors, and online music stations in fourteen categories.

Online station categories include Best Online Station, along with the best for Online Show, Online Male Talent, Online Female Talent and Online Christian Station. Music categories will recognize Best Streaming Song, Best Popular Streaming Song, as well as the best for streaming Male Artist, Female Artist, New Artist and Band or Group. Social Media Organization and Mobile DJ will also be honored.

“We got together and we teamed up…to reward the efforts of our stations, of our talents, of our organizations,” said Pancho Pistolas, Executive Producer and Creative for digiTech. “We thought the best way to do that was reward you and honor you, and give you achievement.”

The showcase will be focused on identifying online celebrities throughout the Tejano genre and will also include performances by past and present musical artists, guest celebrity appearances, industry leaders, and much more.

The first annual PIMAs will take place at the renowned Uptown Theatre in the historic district of Grand Prairie, Texas on March 3, 2018.
