Just weeks after making a band member change, Yvonne Y Fuego announced more additions for the band on Wednesday (January 20).
According to a press release via TLL Talent, drummer Mikey Ybarra has decided to leave the band.
“The band thanks Mikey for his tremendous contributions and wishes him well on his new adventures.” according to the press release. “Mikey will always be a member of the Fuego Family. We thank him and appreciate all he did for us and wish him continued success.”
Rolando Rodriguez has been named the new drummer for Yvonne Y Fuego. The Pontiac, Michigan musician has been playing drums since the age of five and has been involved in the music industry in different capacities. Rodriguez joined his first band, Grupo Energia, at the age of twenty..
“I am excited that I have the opportunity to play with a great group Yvonne y Fuego,” Rodriguez said about joining the 2015 Latin Groove Music Best New Band Of The Year.
The band also adds guitarist Gilbert Villegas. Villegas, who started Grupo Energia, is a Midwest musician that plays guitar, bajo sexto and bass guitar. He has toured with many artists including La Sombra and Eddie Gonzalez.
“I’m privileged to play with Yvonne Y Fuego and for our fans and music lovers all over the world. God Bless,” Villegas said about joining the band.
Lead vocalist Yvonne Ramos won Best New Female Artist at the 2015 Tejano Music Awards in October.
