Freddie Records announced the release date and album cover art for the long-awaited new studio album from Latin Grammy Award winners Elida Reyna Y Avante. Mi Época will be released on February 10, 2017.’
The album contains 12 brand new songs including the recently released “Nunca Pasa Nada.” The new single features a slightly more Regional Mexican/Norteno arrangement designed to broaden the listening audience for EYA. The track was produced by Avante leader and drummer Lalo Reyna III and written by talented songwriter Juan Trevino.
“It has a different spin then our traditional Tejano based songs,” Lalo Reyna told Tejano Nation. “We always try to keep it fresh.”
The band plans to release a video for the new song in December.
“Mi Época signifies Elida’s dominance in the Reg Mex/Tex-Mex genre and proves that this is her time to shine,” Freddie Records said in a press release for the new album.
The band won four awards at the 2016 Tejano Music Awards in mid-November, including Tejano Album Of The Year for their last album Adicta and Song Of The Year for the title track “Adicta.” Elida Reyna also won Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, adding to her record-breaking total of 31 Tejano Music Awards.
