Singer Frankie J is planning to remake “Si Una Vez,” the 1994 hit from the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla.  The former Kumbia Kings member posted the news along with a video of himself singing the song on his personal Facebook page on Sunday.

“I remember singing this song with the Kumbia Kings,” posted Frankie J. “It was my favorite song to sing every time! A magical moment for me! I paid tribute to the legendary Selena by remaking it. And I can’t wait for YOU to hear it!”

“Si Una Vez” was written by Pete Astudillo and produced by Selena’s brother-producer A.B. Quintanilla. Frankie J performed with the Kumbia Kings from 1999-2003, under the moniker Cisko. He then went on to have a successful solo career.

Many musicians have since recorded the song and released it on their respective albums including Mexican mariachi singer Alicia Villareal, American reggaeton performer Ivy Queen, San Antonio indie rock band Girl in a Coma, and American salsa singer Manny Manuel.
