Miguel Hernández is a veteran Tejano musician and vocalist who has performed with Jimmy Gonzalez, Patsy Torres, Stefani Montiel, and Jay Perez. The singer, songwriter, and producer is currently working on his highly-anticipated new album Lucky No. 7.
Hernández released the disc’s latest single, “Fruta Prohibida,” penned by Mexico’s Grammy Award-winning songwriter Eduardo “Yayo” Anguiano, who delivers a track that hits the soul as a heart-wrenching lyrical masterpiece. The song was arranged, recorded, and produced by Hernández, bringing a hybrid of Tejano and Norteño fusion to enhance the lyrical experience.
“It’s a really, really nice love song and the lyrics are incredible,” Hernández tells Tejano Nation. “I just did what I could, you know, musically. It’s getting some airplay and I’m ecstatic about it.”
Hernández added Lucky No. 7 will be a unique album with a spotlight on the musicians. “It’s a very different album. I’m actually very excited to talk about it because we’re releasing two albums, it’s going to be the same album just two different versions,” he said. “One is going to be a radio-friendly version the other is going to be an extended play version and these versions are really showcasing just the musicians and the talent, you know the hidden gems I guess you could say, that can really jam out, they can shred, you know do whatever. So it’s going to be really interesting and I’m excited about it.”
Lucky No. 7 is scheduled for release in May and “Fruta Prohibida” is available now on all major digital music platforms from R.A.W. Elements Music Group.
