selena999fmCorpus Christi radio station 99.9 KSAB-FM will transform into Selena 99.9 for 33 hours this weekend, honoring Selena Quintanilla-Perez during the city’s annual two-day Fiesta De La Flor celebration.

Beginning at 3:00 pm Friday afternoon, KSAB will air only songs by the beloved singer from Corpus Christi, during the music festival honoring her life and music.

“We’ve always kept playing Selena’s music on KSAB. She is on the air on a daily basis,” Dan Pena, KSAB Program Director, told Tejano Nation. “But, since the whole city is celebrating her life and legacy, we’re honoring her by playing her music round the clock. It’s our way of welcoming the thousands of people from all across the country visiting during the fiesta.”

Fiesta De La Flor hosted over 52,000 fans of the Tejano star in 2015. For 2016, the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau (CC CVB) anticipates more than 70,000 fans will attend the second annual festival.

Ramon Ayala, Erick Y Grupo Massore, Pete Astudillo and Isabel Marie are scheduled to perform on the first night of the festival on Friday, May 6. The Saturday, May 7, lineup boasts four-time Grammy winners La Mafia, legendary artists Fito Olivares and Ruben Ramos, multi-Grammy Award winner Elida Reyna y Avante, Tejano great David Lee Garza and many more.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May, 6 and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at North Bayfront Park in downtown Corpus Christi.  Daily General  Admission tickets will be available for $10.00 or $15.00 for a two-day pass per festival-goer. Children 7 and under will receive complimentary admission.
