Veteran Tejano musician Chris “Cage” Gonzalez is slowly recovering from long term injuries suffered in a serious auto accident on Oct. 2.

The guitarist, who has performed with Grupo Stampede and DFW badboyz Grupo Sueño, is currently recovering at home after being discharged from the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help the musician pay for costly medical expenses and medical equipment needed for recovery.

“He had just started a new job after being laid off due to the COVID pandemic,” said the GoFundMe page. “He was so happy to finally be working again after being without a job for 6 months.”

The accident occurred a month shy of his insurance becoming effective, according to the GoFundMe page.

“He’s needing a home ventilator to assist him with his recovery,” added the GoFundMe page. “The hospital sent him home since he has no insurance. Even though he’s still considered critical due to his pulmonary condition. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.”

To donate and help with medical costs and medical equipment for Gonzalez visit the fundraiser page at GoFundMe.com.
