Gary Hobbs released the highly-anticipated new single, “Lo Que Amo” (What I Love), on September 23.
It’s a feel-good vibe Cumbia with different free style rhythms explaining a man’s true feelings for his woman and the lead single from the crooner’s upcoming album, “Eres Lo Que Amo” (You Are What I Love) expected to be released in late October.
This album will be the first time that Hobbs wrote songs for his project in many years, “I hadn’t written in 15 plus years,” he said during an interview with the Cruz Control with AC Cruz podcast. “I don’t want to say writer’s block, we have a studio so it’s not like I don’t have a place to record. I can’t explain it, it just wasn’t there, I wasn’t writing.”

The singer, who is celebrating 36 years in the industry this year, began to write and enlisted the help of a longtime friend and producer Brando Mireles.
“All of a sudden I had a couple of melodies and Brando and I hooked up a couple of months back, we said ‘Let’s get in the studio’ Brando said ‘Let’s do it’,” Hobbs recalls. “It just rolled off, sometimes timing is everything. Sometimes you want to happen today but we got in the studio and it just felt like old times.”
“Lo Que Amo” is available now at all digital music platforms.
