It has to begin somewhere and for 12-year-old Midland, Texas native Tristan Ramos, it’s his debut album El Principio, released on Jan. 31.

The disc, produced by Eddie Perez, is a musical collection that not only features a wide variety of sounds but also some well-known singers and musicians such as Perez, Mario Ortiz, Javier Galvan, Michael Machado, Joey Jimenez and more.

The vocal and musical versatility of Ramos shines through with the variety of song choices on the project. Whether it be a Tejano style on tracks such as “Las Miradas”, solid accordion Conjunto flavor on “Fluid Polka” or the old school funk rock sound on “Come and Get Your Love,” this 12 track project has something for everyone.

Ramos also features a hard-hitting collaboration with Tejano legend Galvan on the classic “Ojitos Color Café”.

The cumbia “Muevelo” featuring Eddie Jimenez of Da Krazy Pimpz has already received widespread radio airplay and club spins.
