Young singing sensation Mia released her latest single, “Baila Mi Ritmo,” on Monday (September 25).
The 11-year-old singer is the latest youngster to cover the irresistibly catchy Colombiana-style cumbia. “Baila Mi Ritmo” was originally released in 2013 by Colombian singer Shaira, winner of Factor XS in 2011. It was covered by Mexican group Los Papis R.A. 7 in 2016.
Mia’s version is produced by her father and manager Chris Garcia for AIM Records and adds a smooth accordion, punched-up irresistible rhythms and her own spirited vocals to truly make it her own. The production also features Leonel Correa of La Calma on accordion and David L. Garza on percussion, with additional mixing and mastering.
This release is just the latest news for Mia, who is the youngest artist to be nominated for a Tejano Music Award. She is nominated on the general ballot for the 2018 Tejano Music Awards as Best New Artist – Female.
